College of Veterinary Medicine participates in a seminar on the dangers of foot-and-mouth disease and ways to prevent it in Bani Hassan Emirate

                      As part of the joint cooperation between the College of Veterinary Medicine and the General Veterinary Hospital in the holy province of Karbala, the Husseiniya Clinic organized an awareness seminar on the dangers of foot-and-mouth disease and ways to prevent it, at the host of Sheikh Azab Al-Jabasi in Husseiniya district, in the presence of a group of veterinary, tribal and academic figures.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University had a prominent presence in this seminar, where it was represented by Dr. Sajjad Al-Jubouri, who gave a detailed presentation on the danger of foot-and-mouth disease, methods of transmission between animals and the best ways to limit its spread, stressing the importance of following health and veterinary guidelines and not being drawn behind malicious rumors and relying only on information issued by the competent authorities.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Wissam Al-Jabri, director of the veterinary hospital in the province, along with a number of veterinary staff and officials of veterinary divisions and units, as well as Brigadier General Wathiq Al-Fatlawi, head of tribal affairs at the Karbala Operations Command, in addition to representatives of the Department of Agricultural Extension, the extension farm in Al-Wand, the Imam Awn (AS) Agriculture Division, and agricultural associations in Karbala, led by Sheikh Jassim Al-Masoudi.

The seminar witnessed an open discussion with breeders about the most prominent challenges facing the livestock sector, with practical recommendations that contribute to protecting livestock and limiting the spread of diseases through continuous cooperation between breeders and veterinary and agricultural authorities to ensure the health and safety of livestock in the region.
