The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University defended a master’s thesis by Ali Aqab Youssef from the Public Health Branch titled:
(The effect of adding zinc and bio-enhancer on the performance of broiler chickens under heat stress) in the presence of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Saleh, his scientific assistant, Professor Dr. Ihab Ghazi Mahdi, and a number of academics, researchers and specialists in the field of poultry health.
The thesis aimed to study the effectiveness of adding zinc and bio-enhancer in improving the productive performance indicators of broiler chickens, especially when exposed to heat stress conditions, which is one of the most prominent challenges facing the poultry industry in the hot environment.
The results of the research showed that the introduction of zinc and bio-enhancer in poultry feeds contributed significantly to increasing digestion efficiency and increasing growth rates in addition to minimizing the negative effects associated with heat stress, which reflected positively on the health and productivity of birds.
The study recommended the adoption of this nutritional mixture, especially for the Rose breed, within the nutritional programs in accordance with the recommended scientific standards as it has an effective impact on enhancing the health of poultry and improving their production efficiency under harsh environmental conditions.
