The College of Veterinary Medicine Council holds its fourteenth session, affirming support for digital transformation and improving academic performance.

             The College of Veterinary Medicine Council at the University of Karbala held its fourteenth regular session on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi, the esteemed Dean of the College, and attended by heads of academic departments and academic and administrative officials.

During the meeting, several vital topics were discussed that contribute to developing the college’s scientific and administrative structure. The Council emphasized the importance of supporting scientific research related to digital transformation and adopting this approach as part of the graduation research projects of undergraduate and graduate students, in line with contemporary requirements and labor market outcomes.

The Council also emphasized the importance of encouraging the “Study in Iraq” program, given its role in strengthening the position of Iraqi universities at the regional and international levels. It also noted the College’s continued implementation of the Ministry of Higher Education’s strategy to include Iraqi scientific journals in approved global databases.

In a related context, the Council emphasized the need for graduate students to adhere to the specified timeframes for completing their studies and research, in accordance with applicable ministerial instructions, to ensure academic discipline and quality of work.

Separately, the Council discussed enhancing civil defense and public safety procedures at the College by updating safety and prevention systems and ensuring their readiness across the College’s various facilities.

It was also emphasized that the summer vacation should be utilized to carry out maintenance and rehabilitation work within buildings and laboratories and to organize the university environment, preparing for a strong start to the next academic year.

The meeting concluded with directives from the College Deanship on the need to continue coordination between academic departments and administrative units to achieve the set goals efficiently and effectively, contributing to raising the level of academic and research performance at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
