Under the supervision of the President of Karbala University, Prof. Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel and the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Wefaq Al-Bazi. The extracurrecular activities Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Division in the Karbala Governorate , held an educational awareness seminar, coinciding with the 16-day campaign on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on Monday 6/12/2021 at 10 am, in the discussion room in the college and in the presence of Assistant to the President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul-Hussein Najm, the Dean of the College and the Scientific Associate of the College, Prof. Kadhum Saleh Kadhum and the staff of the veterinary hospital in Karbala, the head of the psychological guidance committee, the head of Continuios Education Division , the head of extracurrecular activities Division , and a number of professors and students.
The educational symposium aimed to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls worldwide, and calls for global action to raise awareness and promote advocacy for that goal and to provide opportunities to discuss challenges and solutions.
The symposium included the topic of violence against women, its causes and ways to treat it, in addition to discussing the issue in all its aspects and addressing the statistics announced by the institutions and humanitarian organizations in the world regarding this aspect and the causes of violence..which is one of the causes of ignorance and lack of awareness. And to clarify the importance of women and their effective role in building the family and society, in addition to the position of women in Islam and the rights and privileges granted to them.
At the end of the symposium, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the lecturers by the Scientific Assistant, the Dean of the College and the Scientific Associate of the College, in appreciation and honor for the efforts made by them in managing this awareness symposium.
