The College of Veterinary Medicine organized a training course about online blackmailing and electronic information

Under the supervision of the President of Karbala University, Prof. Dr. Bassem Al-Saidi, and the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Wefaq Al-Bazi The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, the Continuios Education Division, in cooperation with the Directorate of National Security in Karbala, held an attendance training course entitled (online blackmailing and electronic informations) with the participation of a number of professors and college students for the period from 7-9/12/2021.

It aimed to train participants to understand the crimes of electronic blackmailing and how to target victims by blackmailers, to identify the strategies of blackmailers in committing the crime, and to familiarize the participants with how the victim deals with the blackmailer, as well as how to prevent crime by users of information systems.

The first day of the training course included clarification of the concept of electronic extortion methods. These crimes may be considered among the most serious crimes that are committed using information technology, as the perpetrators target their victims by deceiving them and obtaining their sensitive data and then threatening them; or by taking advantage of the relationship with the victims and accessing some privacy and then threatening to disclose it.
