A Training Workshop at the College of Veterinary Medicine on the Usage of Probiotics in the Food and Pharmaceutical Industries.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Wefaq Jubouri Al-Bazi, the training course on the Usage of Probiotics in the Food and Pharmaceutical Industries was concluded, which lasted for three days on 10-12/5/2022.

The training workshop lectured by a. Dr. Juman Khalil Ibrahim, M. Nawras Majid Hamid and Eng. Mustafa Abdel Karim Hamid. The two teachers in the Branch of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology, with the participation of a number of faculty members.

The training workshop aims to shed light on probiotics, their types and sources, their importance to the human body, as well as their multiple uses in industries, especially food and pharmaceutical industries.

Probiotics are a type of beneficial bacteria that live everywhere in addition to living in the human body and are also found in many food products such as dairy products and are also used in many medicines because of their importance to the human body, especially the digestive system, where it maintains its proper functioning. Maintaining intestinal health also contributes to strengthening the immune system, relieving irritable bowel syndrome, treating problems caused by diarrhea and other uses, in addition to being considered an important nutritional supplement.
