The Ministry of Higher Education announces the launch of the American Scholarship Program to support southern universities in the fields of environmental and renewable energy.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research , Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel -Sahib has announced the launch of the American grant for the initiative supporting the southern universities to equip the Environmental Research Center and the promotion of renewable energy research at the universities of Basra, Dhi Qar, Maysan and Al-Muthanna. 

 

    This came during the launch ceremony supervised by the Organization of the International Research and Exchange Commission (IREX) on the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel -Sahib, the USA ambassador to Iraq, Mrs. Alina Romansky, heads and representatives of Southern universities and members of the ministerial committee in charge of supervision and follow -up.

    In his speech, the Minister of Education stressed that Iraqi universities possess the competencies and energies capable of managing and achieving sustainable development programs, noting the importance of cooperation with international institutions and organizations in the areas of infrastructure support and providing positive climates responsible for community service.

   Abdel -Sahib explained that the scholarship program for the initiative supporting the southern universities to equip the Environmental Research Center and the promotion of renewable energy research in the universities of Basra, Dhi Qar and Maysan and Muthanna represents a step towards productive scientific and educational partnerships that meet and respond to contemporary cognitive requirements and open the way towards scientific cooperation opportunities in vital areas and hard work to support Scientific research and educational services.  

    In turn, the US Ambassador of the United States of America, Mrs. Alina Romansky, pointed out the importance of this initiative to focus on the environmental fields and renewable energy, which constitutes a basic goal of sustainable development in Iraq.

   The supervisor of the projects of the Airex Organization, Dr. Lori Mason, heads and representatives of Iraqi universities, reviewed the paths of cooperation in these programs, especially with regard to capacity building and training in facing challenges, producing sustainable solutions and developing laboratory capabilities in the areas of scientific research so that the goals and mission of higher education institutions in Iraq are achieved similar to experiences Advanced global.
