A training course at the University of Karbala on the methods and types of surgical sutures.

     In cooperation with the Public Health Branch, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala organized a training course entitled (Methods and Types of Surgical Sutures). The training course held on the surgical and obstetrics hall in the Animal Field of the College at (10 am.) for the period from 17-19/10/2022. The training course lectured by Dr. Ali Jassem Jaafar, Dr. Falah Mahmoud Hamid and assistant lecturer Haider Muhammad Mohsen with the participation of a number of students and researchers.

       The training course aims to teach participants about surgical sutures, as well as learn about the types of sutures, their uses, and the benefits and disadvantages of each type.

    The course involved the most important methods used to sew wounds in animals, the advantages of each method, the types of the used surgical sutures, the difference in suture methods between small and large animals, the latest techniques and materials used in this field and the possibilities of using them locally. In addition, the course asserted the need to pay attention to health and therapeutic methods in dealing with wounds or surgical operations of animals of all kinds.

  On her part, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Wefaq Al-Bazi, mentioned that the College is working to improve its outputs to ensure community service, provide the best educational services, improve the reliability of education quality and enhance the movement of scientific research.
