In cooperation with international organizations, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi has announced the launch of the Program of Chemical Assets Tracking (CAT) and the universities’ advancement in developing their specialized laboratories.
In his speech during the launching event of (CAT) Program the Minister of Higher Education said that “the Ministry and its academic institutions, in cooperation with international organizations, provide a scientific environment for the development of programs and projects of safety & security. Al-Aboudi added that “launching this Program will enable universities and their specialized scientific centers to control the tracking of prohibited materials and will limit the possibility of accessing them or using them to threaten humanity and the environment.”
On his part, Undersecretary of Ministry for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ali Hamid Al-Shukri, reviewed the exerted efforts to implement the Chemical Assets Tracking Program, which will work to improve the level of safety and security through the implementation of projects represented in the rehabilitation of a number of specialized laboratories in Iraqi universities, as well as training projects for employees within this (CAT) Program.
