The University of Kerbala holds the first international cultural forum for the elimination of violence against women.

In coordination with the College of Computer Science & Information Technology and Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her), and on the occasion of the 16-day Campaign, the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the Presidency of the University of Karbala held the first international cultural forum to eliminate violence against women under the slogan (Islam honors You and the law protects You).
The forum aims to raise societal awareness of the role of women, reject violence against women, and display the size of the problems that women challenge around the world.

The President of the University, Prof. Bassem Al-Saidi referred that women are among the most important active groups in society, not only at the local level, but also at global one. This always involve women within the university’s attention, emphasizing that the organization of this forum indicates the full seriousness of this approach, which focuses on Women’s issues, especially providing comprehensive support and empowerment for women in various fields.

Al-Saeedi added that the University of Karbala has an important role in enhancing the status of women in society, especially the selection of a number of women among the administrative and scientific managers, as well as working on equal opportunities and duties for women in all fields.

Al-Saeedi emphasized that the launch of this forum is a representation of the thought of University leaders at the University of Karbala in supporting women, and that Karbala is the starting point in this matter due to its religious, touristic and scientific status.
