The participation of a professor from the College of Veterinary Medicine on a master’s thesis discussion conducted in the College of Medicine at the University of Kerbala.

The professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, Dr. Juman Khalil participated on the discussion committee conducted in the College of Medicine of a master’s thesis accomplished by the student Hijran Tawfiq Adel Shaalan under the title: (Assessment of Presepsin, Calprotectin and the Bacterial Causes of Adult Patients in Critical Cases of Toxicemia).

The study included different pathogens with the development of infection such as fungi, viruses, parasites and bacteria, where the knowledge of the responsible pathogen for infection is essential for the subsequent management approach.

This study aimed to evaluate serum levels in patients with toxicemia as well as to compare the diagnostic utility of these biomarkers with the conventional diagnostic methods used for toxicemia. The supervising committee recommended granting the student an excellence degree.
