The Minister of Higher Education officially receives the project of the British University in Iraq from the Iraqi-British Business Council (IBBC).

Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has officially received the British University project in Iraq and affirmed his support for the establishment of advanced and deep-rooted foreign universities in Iraq.

Al-Aboudi received an official delegation from the Iraqi-British Business Council (IBBC), headed by Baroness Emma Nicholson, and included a number of academics and education experts from British universities and British Council.

Furthermore, the Minister, Al-Aboudi, instructed the formation of a higher ministerial committee to organize the procedures in accordance with the legal and scientific requirements, stressing his support for the establishment of advanced and deep-rooted foreign universities in Iraq, especially the European ones, pointing out at the same time that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is based on a policy of global openness in the fields of university education in order to achieve the goals and the requirements of sustainable development in Iraq.

On their part, the official delegation of Iraqi-British Business Council (IBBC) explained their commitment and contribution to developing the educational aspect and achieving qualitative additions appropriate to the educational environment in Iraq. At the same time noting that the British University project in Iraq includes the adoption of the Bologna path in terms of curricula and the educational system that is adequate with the Iraqi universities that have taken positive steps in meeting global requirements.
