The Minister of Higher Education confirms: To adopt Bologna system in universities is to represent the gateway to modernization and development of the education system in Iraq.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, affirmed that the adoption of Bologna system in universities represents the gateway to modernization and development of the higher education system in Iraq.

In his speech during the meeting with the Council of Thi- Qar University, Dr. Al-Aboudi stated that the decision to adopt Bologna path and courses system in Iraqi universities is an important step to enhance the quality of education, modernize its curricula, and meet the needs of the labor market and the skills it requires.

Dr. Al-Aboudi added that the process of developing educational systems is associated with the current and future general changes required by community service and its relationship with the various sectors of the State responsible for embodying development goals and plans that are based on projects aimed at improving the graduates’ abilities.

The Minister of Higher Education listened to the inputs of deans of colleges to develop the educational environment, some of which included a proposal to create specialized centers, colleges and scientific departments that meet the renewable needs in Thi- Qar Governorate.
