As part of its efforts to enhance the quality of higher education and keep pace with the latest international academic standards, a group of professors from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University participated in the training course organized by Baghdad University under the title “Quality Assurance of Education according to the Bologna Process”, which was supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Agency – Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department – Quality Assurance Department.
The college delegation included Prof. Dr. Mona Hussein Hassan, Assistant Professor Dr. Wala Fadel Obaid, teacher Dr. Mazen Razzaq Kazim, teacher Taha Hamza Hassan, and Ms. Wafa Haidar Hassan.
The course aims to shed light on the mechanisms of applying the Bologna system in Iraqi universities and its importance in improving the quality of higher education and developing academic programs in accordance with international standards, which contributes to enhancing the recognition of academic degrees and providing wider opportunities for student mobility between international universities, in addition to linking educational outputs to the labor market by focusing on practical and applied skills.
The course witnessed extensive discussions on the principles of academic quality assurance, university performance indicators, implementation and evaluation mechanisms according to the latest international standards, as well as the preparation of educational quality assurance reports.
This participation comes as a confirmation of the commitment of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Karbala University to develop the efficiency of its academic staff and apply the best practices in the field of quality and academic accreditation in order to contribute to raising the level of university education in Iraq and enhancing the position of Iraqi universities in international rankings.
