Kerbala University researcher succeeds in improving the performance of broiler chickens with xylanase enzyme

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kerbala University discussed the master’s thesis submitted by researcher Haider Ali Hassan titled:
“The effect of exogenous xylanase enzyme on the performance of production chickens and gene expression in low-energy broilers”.

The study addressed the role of xylanase as a feed additive in increasing the efficiency of nutrient utilization in low-energy feeds and its effect on the productive performance of broiler chickens, as well as its implications on gene expression related to digestion and metabolism.

The results showed that the addition of xylanase resulted in improved growth rates and nutrient conversion factor as well as enhanced gene expression associated with increased nutrient utilization efficiency.

The discussion committee consisted of:
– Prof Dr Kazim Saleh Kazim – Chair
– Prof Dr Haifa Hassan Juma – Member
– Assistant Professor Dr Alireza Abed – Member
– Prof Dr Yasser Jamal Jamil – Member and Supervisor
– Assistant Professor Dr Ali Jassim Jaafar – Member and Supervisor

In his speech during the discussion session, Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Asad Al Kaabi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, stressed that the College continues to support and encourage applied research that contributes to the development of the poultry sector and enhance food security, praising the scientific efforts made by the researcher and the supervisory committee.

At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee recommended accepting the thesis and granting the researcher Haider Ali Hassan a master’s degree in veterinary sciences.
