Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research decides to create the College of Excellence in Arabic Language and Literature at Kufa University

       The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Naim Al-Abboudi, has decided to establish the College of Excellence in Arabic Language and Literature at Kufa University starting from the academic year 2026/2025, confirming the institutional orientation aimed at consolidating the presence of the Arabic language and preserving its scientific and historical status.

According to the ministerial decision, the new college will include three scientific departments with a limited capacity not exceeding thirty students per year. The duration of the study is set at five years, at the end of which the graduate will receive bachelor’s and master’s degrees, provided that his average in the first three years is not less than (65%). The decision includes preparing a special plan to launch a doctoral programme after the graduation of the first batch, in order to enhance the research environment and open advanced horizons for postgraduate students.

In this context, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Naim Al-Aboudi directed the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up to develop admission controls and submission mechanisms that ensure attracting students and qualifying competencies capable of serving the community, consolidating cultural and scientific identity and contributing to the development of the specialised academic scene.
