The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine witnessed the defence of a master’s thesis by a student (Zahraa Rafi Hamid) entitled:
“Detection and investigation of Brucella melitensis in milk and dairy products in the provinces of Karbala and Babylon”
The study focused on investigating the presence of Brucella bacteria in milk and dairy products taken from cows and sheep in the provinces of Karbala and Babylon, with a primary focus on animal health and veterinary prevention as Brucella is a common animal disease that is transmitted to humans.
Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Asad Al Kaabi Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine praised the importance of the research and its role in promoting animal health and veterinary prevention, stressing the college’s continuous support for sober scientific research that serves the community and preserves public health.
