Our laboratories speak | Chemistry Laboratory: Where theory and practice come together

The Chemistry Laboratory at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kerbala is one of the cornerstones of the educational system. It provides an important practical space that enables students to move from abstract laws and equations to direct laboratory experience which reinforces scientific concepts and enhances their research skills.

The laboratory contains many advanced scientific devices including:
A fume hood to ensure a safe environment when handling volatile substances.
A centrifuge used to separate components with high precision.
A spectrophotometer to measure light absorption and determine the concentrations of chemical substances.
The laboratory also includes a water bath used in many biochemical applications
and a shaking incubator that provides an ideal environment for advanced microbial and chemical reactions.

Under the supervision of specialised professors and trained technicians, the chemistry laboratory becomes a vibrant scientific workshop where students learn the basics of handling equipment chemical analysis steps, and accurate recording of results, preparing them for more advanced stages in their academic and research careers.

The college dean’s office pays great attention to this laboratory by updating its equipment and developing its practical programmes in line with international academic standards so that it remains a dynamic scientific space that fosters critical thinking and stimulates the spirit of discovery among veterinary students.

It is not just a chemistry laboratory but a laboratory where scientific passion is forged and the first building blocks of a skilled researcher and creative veterinarian are laid.
