As part of efforts to promote environmental awareness and support sustainable development concepts, and under the slogan “A Paper Bag… A Step Towards a Cleaner Environment,” the Student Activities Division – Cultural Activities Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Internal and Preventive Veterinary Medicine and students of the College of Veterinary Medicine, organized an awareness campaign in local markets to encourage the use of paper bags instead of plastic ones.

The campaign was sponsored and supervised by the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi, who emphasized the importance of the university and students’ role in serving the community and spreading environmental awareness.

The campaign included distributing paper bags and awareness posters, in addition to direct meetings with shop owners and citizens to explain the dangers of plastic bags and the importance of environmentally friendly alternatives.

The campaign aims to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly responsible consumption and production, environmental protection, and building sustainable communities, and it received a positive response from the local community.

This initiative is part of the community activities implemented by the college, affirming its academic and humanitarian role in serving the environment and society.
