Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naim Al-Abboudi honored Karbala University for its excellence in implementing the “Study in Iraq” program launched by the ministry during the academic year 2023-2024.
The ministry selected Karbala University among a number of universities that excelled in implementing the program, which is the first of its kind after 2003.
The honoring of the universities came on the sidelines of the activities of the ministry’s announcement of the third edition of the “Study in Iraq” program for the academic year 2026_2025 to accept international students in Iraqi universities.
The director of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations at the university, Dr. Hawra Jabbar Rahi, explained that “the selection of the honored university came based on several criteria, including speed in completing the procedures for the admission of international students, permanent follow-up to the details and requirements of the program, commitment to ministerial instructions and timelines, and diligent follow-up with the ministry.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi revealed an ambitious plan to provide more than sixteen thousand scholarships for international students covering various disciplines and broader opportunities for scientific and cultural exchange.
