The College of Veterinary Medicine Council Holds its Fourth Meeting and Reviews Directives from the University President and the Dean

      The College of Veterinary Medicine held its fourth meeting of the College Council, chaired by the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi, and attended by council members. During the meeting, the directives of the President of the University of Kerbala Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, were reviewed, along with the college’s own directives and plans for enhancing academic and administrative operations.

First – Directives from the University President

The meeting emphasized key areas aimed at strengthening the quality of university education, most notably:

• Developing academic and administrative staff according to quality and accreditation standards.

• Attracting distinguished talent from within and outside Iraq.

• Enhancing faculty capabilities through continuous training in modern teaching methods.

• Encouraging scientific publication in reputable and internationally accredited journals.

• Updating curricula to align with labor market demands.

• Providing care for international students and a supportive learning environment for them.

• Treating faculty members with chronic illnesses with compassion. • Strict adherence to deadlines for completing administrative and academic tasks.

Second – Directives of the Dean of the College

The council also discussed a number of directives issued by the Dean of the College, which focused on organizing the educational process and enhancing academic follow-up, including:

• Commitment to completing coursework, midterm exams, and preparing for final exams.

• Monitoring student attendance and emphasizing discipline and adherence to official working hours.

• Guiding postgraduate students in the research phase to maintain continuous communication with their supervisors to ensure the quality of their scientific work.

• Monitoring the work of the educational and psychological guidance committees and addressing the obstacles students face.

At the conclusion of its session, the council emphasized the importance of implementing these directives to contribute to enhancing institutional performance and solidifying the College of Veterinary Medicine’s position among the leading colleges at the University of Kerbala.
