Second-year veterinary students at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kerbala conducted a practical experiment to prepare silage using sugarcane and molasses as part of their practical nutrition course. The experiment, supervised by professors from the Public Health Department, aimed to enhance the students’ practical skills and train them in fermentation methods for preserving animal feed.
During the experiment, the students learned the basic steps of silage production according to scientific principles that simulate field applications, thus contributing to improving their professional competence in animal nutrition.
The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi, commended the students’ diligence and engagement, emphasizing the importance of such practical applications in bridging the gap between theory and practice and developing students’ skills.
