The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kerbala Discusses a Master’s Thesis on the Morphological and Histochemical Study of the Pituitary Gland in the Grey Ferret

      The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kerbala discussed a master’s thesis submitted by researcher Noor Baqir Mohsen, Department of Anatomy and Histology, entitled: “A Morphological and Histochemical Study of the Pituitary Gland in the Grey Ferret (Herpestes edwardsii).”

The study aimed to identify the morphological and histochemical structure of the pituitary gland in the grey ferret, characterize the cell types and their distribution within the lobes of the gland, and determine the nature of its chemical components and their relationship to its hormonal functions. This contributes to enriching scientific knowledge and supporting future comparative and physiological studies.

The discussion committee consisted of Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Nadhim Ali Taqi as chair, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Salah Al-Samawi from Al-Qasim Green University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Atiya Dawood. The thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Hussein Bashar Mahmoud and Assistant Professor Dr. Fatih Awda Kadhim.

The Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Saleh Al-Kaabi, commended the scientific efforts of the postgraduate students and researchers, emphasizing the college’s commitment to supporting rigorous research that contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge and enhances the college’s research standing.
