The College of Veterinary Medicine organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of the Week of World Antibiotic Awareness.

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil Nayel, The President of Karbala University, Prof. Dr. Wefaq Jabouri Al-Bazi, The Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and in cooperation with Dr. Wissam Abdel-Rasoul Al-Jabri, The Director of the General Veterinary Hospital in the governorate, the College of Veterinary Medicine organized, within the framework of joint cooperation with the veterinary hospital, and on the occasion of (The Week of World Antibiotic Awareness), it campaign by circulating educational brochures on antibiotics, their composition and therapeutic indications, and an indication of the risks resulting from their use without medical advice, as well as an educational seminar about this subject.
The World Antibiotic Awareness Week aimed to raise awareness of antibiotic resistance in the world and encourage the adoption of best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers in order to avoid the emergence and spread of further cases of this antibiotic resistance.
A number of students of the College of Veterinary Medicine participated in this awareness campaign, under the supervision of Dr. Rana Abdel Amir, the Director of the Continuios Education Division at the college.
