The College of Veterinary Medicine discussed a master’s thesis on the influence of tomato powder on growth performance, lipid profiles, immunological & antioxidant status in broilers exposed to aflatoxin by the student Amjad Abdul Hassan

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis presented by the student Amjad Abdulhassan on the topic: the influence of tomato powder on growth performance, lipid profiles, immunological & antioxidant status in broilers exposed to aflatoxin. In the presence of a number of researchers, professors and the students’ families, the discussion conducted on Tuesday, 1/11/2022 in the discussion room at the College.
The thesis aimed at how to control the side effects of mycotoxins in broilers by using tomato powder for its positive and antioxidant effects by measuring a number of productive and physiological parameters. In addition, the thesis examines some immunological parameters and comparing this effect with commercial antifungals (Mycofix).
Throughout the results of the research, the study found out the possibility of replacing commercial antifungals with tomato powder, in addition to the improvement of physiological and productive characteristics causing from this addition. The thesis approved with excellence.
