Professor Dr Mona Hussein Hassan a lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kerbala University chaired the defence committee of a Master’s thesis at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine / Diyala University entitled:
“Study the specific morphometric differences and histological variations in relation to the crops function in brooding and non-brooding Java birds ‘Lonchura Oryzivora’ diamond doves ‘Geopelia Cuneata’ and Indonesian chickens ‘Ayam Cemani’.” The thesis aimed to study the specific morphometric differences and histological variations in relation to the crops function in brooding and non-brooding Java birds.
The thesis aimed to study the morphometric differences and histological changes associated with gizzard function in some avian species by comparing incubating and non-incubating birds thus contributing to expanding the scientific understanding of the functional and physiological structure of the digestive system in birds.
At the end of the discussion the committee praised the scientific effort exerted and the important results of the study stressing that it represents a qualitative addition in the field of histology and comparative morphology.
For his part the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kerbala University Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Asad Al-Kaabi praised the participation of faculty members in scientific and research activities in various Iraqi universities pointing out that such participation contributes to enhancing academic cooperation raising the level of scientific research and serving the educational process.
