The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kerbala University received Mr Anwar Al-Yisari member of Karbala Provincial Council and Chairman of the Council’s Health and Environment Committee who was welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Asad Al-Kaabi Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
During the meeting they discussed the prospects of joint cooperation between the local government and academic institutions to support the educational process and develop research programmes that serve the province and meet the needs of the community.
The meeting also discussed the environmental situation in Kerbala Governorate and ways to reduce pollutants that directly affect food, especially from animal sources in addition to discussing the scientific research carried out by the college in the field of environmental pollution and the possibility of applying the results of this research to reduce its risks.
The two sides emphasised the importance of strengthening partnerships between the Council and the university in order to improve the educational and research reality and enable the university to play its pioneering role in serving Kerbala and society in general.
