The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kerbala University witnessed the defence of a master’s thesis by Farah Jalal Sahib from the Fisheries Department:
“Effect of Vitex agnus-castus extract green nanoparticles metformin and probiotic in polycystic ovary syndrome induced by letrozole in experimental female rats”
The study aimed to evaluate the effect of Vitex agnus-castus extract with green nanoparticles, metformin and probiotic in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome induced by letrozole in experimental female rats
The results showed that the use of these treatments improved the hormonal and physiological parameters associated with PCOS with the efficiency of each treatment varying, with a significant effect of the nanotechnology plant extract and probiotic in improving reproductive functions.
This study highlights the importance of biological and pharmacological therapies in the treatment of reproductive disorders and offers safe and effective alternatives that may open the way for future applications in the treatment of this common syndrome
Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Asad Al Kaabi Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, praised the importance of the thesis and its role in promoting applied research that contributes to the development of health and veterinary treatments, stressing the college’s continuous support for research students.
