Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kerbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Saleh Al-Kaabi, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college organized an awareness workshop entitled: “The Role of Women in Promoting Sustainability.” The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of women’s role in achieving sustainable development in its various environmental, economic, and social dimensions.
The workshop addressed the concept of sustainability and the importance of empowering women as a fundamental element in building sustainable societies. It also highlighted women’s role in protecting the environment through the rational use of resources and spreading environmental awareness within families and communities.
The workshop also discussed women’s contribution to supporting a sustainable economy through small projects and work in sustainable agriculture and handicrafts. It emphasized the importance of education and training in enhancing women’s active participation in the labor market.
The workshop affirmed that women represent a fundamental pillar in building societal awareness and establishing sustainable values, given their important educational and humanitarian role in preparing future generations.
