Within the framework of enhancing scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi and Iranian universities, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala held an electronic meeting with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Ferdowsi University of Iran to coordinate joint efforts to organize the upcoming sixth periodic scientific conference (third international conference).
The meeting was chaired on the Iraqi side by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Saleh, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, and was attended by the deans’ assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, as well as the heads of the scientific conference committees.
On the Iranian side, the meeting was attended by the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Ferdowsi University, Dr. Abbas Parham, and the Head of International Relations, Dr. Hassan Barji, in addition to the Scientific Assistant Dean and a representative of the Director of the Journal of Veterinary Medicine at Ferdowsi University.
A number of important topics related to the joint scientific conference were discussed during the meeting, most notably:
1. The number of members of the Iranian delegation expected to participate in the conference and determining their scientific specializations.
2. The number of scientific research papers to be submitted by the Iranian side and the mechanism for receiving and evaluating them.
3. Arrival and departure dates for delegation members and the arrangements for reception.
4. Length of stay and necessary logistical coordination during the delegation’s stay in Iraq.
Both sides emphasized the importance of this cooperation in enhancing scientific exchange and developing academic research in the field of veterinary medicine. They also agreed to continue coordination meetings to ensure the success of the conference and achieve common goals.
It is hoped that this conference will contribute to opening new horizons for research and scientific cooperation between the two universities and the exchange of expertise between professors and researchers in various veterinary specialties.
