The College of Veterinary Medicine organizes an awareness campaign on the occasion of “No Drugs Week”

As part of its awareness-raising and educational activities, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine / Karbala University, under the direct supervision of the Dean of the Faculty, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asad Al-Kaabi, organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of “No Drugs Week”, which is held annually in conjunction with the International Day against Drugs, to emphasize the pivotal role of academic institutions in addressing the scourge of drugs and enhancing community awareness of its dangers.

The campaign included the distribution of awareness brochures that included scientific and preventive information about the harms of drugs on physical and psychological health, their negative impact on the nervous and immune system, as well as their social and economic repercussions, with a focus on the types of drugs and ways to prevent them.

In this context, the dean of the college, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al Kaabi, stressed that:

“Drugs are one of the most serious threats facing the future of our youth, and the responsibility of educational institutions is not limited to education only, but also to spread community awareness and immunize individuals against this deadly scourge. We emphasize the importance of concerted efforts between security, educational and health authorities to reduce the spread of drugs and combat drug trafficking.”

This initiative comes in line with the college’s humanitarian and educational mission and its serious endeavor to build a conscious and educated generation capable of facing challenges with a scientific spirit and high moral values.
