Fourth-year veterinary medicine students at the University of Kerbala participated in tick control and crime-congo hemorrhagic fever prevention campaigns as part of their summer training program. The students collaborated with veterinary staff at clinics in the Al-Husayniyah and Al-Hindiyah districts, coinciding with preparations for the Arba’een pilgrimage.
The campaign included awareness programs for livestock owners on methods of preventing crime-congo hemorrhagic fever, as well as participating in spraying barns and dipping animals in veterinary pesticides to reduce the spread of ticks. This contributes to protecting livestock and promoting public health.
This participation reflects the commitment of the college’s dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi, to developing students’ field skills, bridging the gap between theory and practice, and enhancing their role in serving the community and supporting national efforts to prevent zoonotic diseases.
