Examination of sheep by an ultrasound (sonar) device in the Surgery and Obstetrics Branch in College of Veterinary Medicine.

As part of its examination and treatment activities, the Branch of Surgery and Obstetrics at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala received one of the sick cases of a number of sheep belonging to a citizen in the Karbala Governorate. With the participation of fifth-stage students of the College, the sheep were examined by a sonar device in the surgery and obstetrics hall in the Animal Field Unit. Such medical activities are organized in the animal field to develop medical staffs in veterinary medicine and train them to know how to diagnose pregnancy in sheep by using ultrasound (sonar) device.

The examination was carried out by Dr. Falah Mahmoud Hamid. The medical examination activity includes a detailed explanation of the importance of ultrasound examination in the early diagnosis of pregnancy in sheep and knowing the pregnancy of animals with one pregnancy or twins, to enable the breeder of knowing the pregnancy gender whether is male or female. The implementation of these processes is free of charge by the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala.
