The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kerbala welcomed the Scientific and Academic Assessment Committee appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as part of its efforts to monitor academic performance and develop educational programmes in Iraqi faculties.
The committee was received by the dean of the faculty Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi, who welcomed its members and gave a detailed presentation on the faculty’s most prominent activities and scientific and research achievements as well as the development plans that the faculty seeks to implement to improve the level of veterinary education and its outputs.
The committee conducted a field tour that included classrooms scientific laboratories, and the animal field unit during which it reviewed the infrastructure the level of laboratory equipment and the technical capabilities available to serve students and researchers. It also reviewed the educational process and the extent to which academic quality standards are applied in the curricula and scientific activities.
The Dean emphasised that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is working according to an integrated strategy to develop its educational and research environment in line with the requirements of academic accreditation and national quality standards, praising the committee’s role in supporting the development process and monitoring the performance of educational institutions.
At the end of the visit the committee expressed its appreciation for the college’s efforts and its keenness to achieve scientific excellence and provide an integrated academic environment that contributes to the preparation of qualified veterinary cadres capable of serving the community.
