The College of Veterinary Medicine Council at the University of Kerbala held its third regular session chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Asaad Al-Kaabi the esteemed Dean of the College and attended by the esteemed Assistant Deans and heads of academic departments. The session discussed a number of organizational and scientific topics aimed at enhancing the level of academic and administrative performance at the College.
The Dean began the session by emphasizing the importance of monitoring the work of the established subcommittees (HR and SIS) to ensure the smooth flow of administrative work and update data to keep pace with institutional development requirements. He also emphasized the need for faculty members to engage with the Bologna Educational System as this is a qualitative step that contributes to enhancing the quality of education and developing curricula in accordance with international standards.
The Council also addressed the status of scientific laboratories and emphasized the importance of monitoring the readiness and suitability of equipment for practical use as it represents a fundamental pillar in supporting the practical aspects of veterinary education and training.
In the context of university discipline, the council emphasized the importance of faculty and students adhering to official lecture times, which reflects a positive image of the college and its academic discipline. It also called for holding periodic meetings for educational and psychological counselors to follow up on student issues and listen to their opinions and suggestions in a supportive dialogue environment.
The session concluded with an emphasis on encouraging scientific publishing and adhering to approved research plans, seeking to raise the level of scientific production and enhance the college’s research standing locally and internationally.
The council’s convening falls within the framework of the University of Karbala Presidency’s efforts to achieve a solid academic vision based on quality, scientific research, and developing the capabilities of faculty and students to serve the educational process in Iraq.
