Pink Hope: The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala raises health awareness with a breast cancer awareness forum.

Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaad Al-Kaabi the first Pink Hope Forum was organized in cooperation between the Human Rights Unit and the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college under the slogan “Together We Create Pink Awareness.” The forum was held as part of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with broad participation from college students.

The forum was part of a series of awareness-raising activities adopted by the college to spread the culture of early screening and health prevention and highlight the importance of early detection of breast cancer in reducing mortality rates and increasing chances of recovery.

The forum’s curriculum included a workshop titled “Early Detection is Life” and an awareness presentation titled “Awareness is the Path to Salvation,” which provided medical and educational information about the disease’s symptoms and prevention methods. An art exhibition featuring the college’s students’ work expressed the symbolism of the color pink as a message of support and hope for women. Roses, pink ribbons, and informational posters were also distributed.

In a speech during the forum, the Dean emphasized that the College of Veterinary Medicine seeks to combine academic and humanitarian missions, noting that such events represent part of the College’s commitment to promoting health and community awareness among students and spreading the culture of prevention and self-care.
